How Does a Drum Magnetic Separator Work?

The working principle of a drum magnetic separator is based on the difference in magnetic response between particles.
1. Material Feeding
The material is introduced into the magnetic drum separator through a controlled feeding arrangement.
2. Magnetic Attraction
When the material reaches the magnetic field, magnetic particles are attracted toward the drum surface.
3. Non-Magnetic Material Separation
Non-magnetic particles are not retained by the magnetic field and follow their natural discharge trajectory.
4. Magnetic Material Retention
Magnetic particles remain attached to the drum surface while they are within the effective magnetic field.
5. Magnetic Material Discharge
As the drum rotates, the magnetic particles are carried away from the magnetic field and discharged separately.
6. Continuous Operation
The process continues continuously as new material enters the separator.
