What Is a Drum Type Magnetic Separator?

A drum type magnetic separator is a magnetic separation machine consisting of a rotating drum and a stationary or integrated magnetic system.
The material is fed onto or toward the rotating drum. Magnetic particles are attracted toward the magnetic field, while non-magnetic particles follow their natural trajectory.
As the drum rotates, magnetic particles are carried along the drum surface until they move away from the effective magnetic field. The magnetic and non-magnetic fractions are then collected separately.
This continuous separation principle makes a magnetic drum separator suitable for processing large quantities of bulk material.
