What Is a Magnetic Drum Pulley?
A Magnetic Drum Pulley is a conveyor pulley incorporating a stationary or application-specific permanent magnetic circuit within a rotating drum.
It is normally installed at the discharge end of a belt conveyor.
As the conveyor belt passes around the magnetic drum pulley:
The bulk material reaches the pulley.
Ferrous particles are attracted toward the magnetic field.
Non-magnetic material follows its normal trajectory.
Magnetic particles remain attracted to the belt/pulley area for longer.
As the belt moves away from the magnetic field, the captured ferrous material is released into a separate trajectory or collection area.
This allows Power Magnetronics Magnetic Drum Pulley systems to perform continuous ferrous separation without requiring a separate overhead magnetic separator in suitable conveyor applications.
